Outreach Ministries

“YESHUA” COGIC outreach ministries include Bread of Life Food Pantry, The Pews in the Street Tent Ministry, Jail Ministry, Meals in the Park Ministry and Seed Of Hope Homeless Ministry. Our outreach ministries assist the church with its mission to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the homeless, and last but not least, to preach the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Bread of Life Food Pantry

Our non-profit organization is dedicated to aiding those less fortunate. Bread of Life Food Pantry is a community outreach program of the “Yeshua” Church Of God In Christ that provides resources for low income families in our community. We serve the zip codes in our area – 20108, 20109, 20110, 20111. We provide referrals to other community food pantries, shelters and resources that are available.

Matt 25:35-36 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Pews In The Street Ministry

The bible states in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen”

Yeshua’s Tent Ministry began in 2000 in the Georgetown South community. We borrowed a tent from Evangelist Smith from Norfolk, Va. The Lord blessed us to purchase our own tent in 2003 and we have been holding tent revivals in Irongate, Westgate, Georgetown South and Coverstone.

In 2011, we also began an annual Pews In The Street Ministry at the Harris Pavilion in downtown Manassas.

Jail Ministry

Our mission is to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to people who are serving time in jails and prison. Ministry to those in prison has always been part of church work. “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.”  (Hebrews 13:3).

Opportunities to witness for Christ abound in prison ministry through bible studies and worship services. Most inmates are searching for answers to spiritual questions. They also want to know how to make a change in their life. We are a ministry that is scriptural based and Spirit led. Everything we do, we do to make the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ known.

Meals In The Park

Matt 25:35-36 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Yeshua’s mission is to feed people during hard times throughout the year. We go into the communities and serve dinners. Our goal is to develop a relationship with families in the communities and to help lead them to Christ by first addressing some of their physical needs.

Yeshua began our Meals In The Park Ministry in the summer of 2004 in a local community in Manassas by serving spaghetti and bread dinners in the park area. We continue to go into other communities throughout Manassas.

Seed Of Hope Homeless Ministry

Deuteronomy 15:7-11: “If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto. For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.”

We began our Homeless Ministry December 2013. Yeshua’s mission is to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of the poor/homeless/needy and others in Manassas by helping to meet their spiritual needs by reaching them for Christ through personal and group evangelism, prayers, bible study, distribution of bibles and other Christian literature, ministries as deemed necessary, and follow up, as much as possible. Also, by helping meet their physical needs by distribution of such things as: food, toiletries, clothing, blankets, gloves, and other items to enhance their existence.
