about Yeshua

Church of God in Christ was founded on July 5, 1987, under the leadership and vision of Bishop Tony H. CampBell. What began as a small Sunday School class and Bible study with 13 members quickly grew into a thriving ministry committed to sharing the Gospel and serving the community. The name “Yeshua” was divinely impressed upon Bishop CampBell’s heart and later confirmed through a providential discovery in the building that would become the church’s home.
Within three months, the congregation expanded to 28 members and began holding a full schedule of weekly services. Over the years, Yeshua has experienced tremendous growth and transformation. Major renovations to the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall were completed in 2005, enhancing the church’s ability to minister both spiritually and practically. The addition of a commercial kitchen led to the launch of community-focused outreach and service initiatives. Through faithful stewardship and God’s provision, Yeshua paid off the mortgage on its church campus ahead of schedule in 2022. That same year, the ministry expanded its outreach through the Bread of Life Food Pantry and a refrigerated food truck, helping meet the needs of families throughout the region.
Yeshua has faithfully served the First Jurisdiction of Virginia for nearly four decades, hosting worship services, district meetings, weddings, banquets, homegoing celebrations, and numerous community events. In September 2024, the church celebrated a historic Mortgage Burning Service, marking another milestone in God’s faithfulness. Today, Yeshua Church of God in Christ continues to be a place of worship, discipleship, fellowship, and community outreach—committed to impacting lives and advancing the Kingdom of God for generations to come.
